The Problem

Recruiting Outcomes are Poor
Over 50% of college athletes have a negative outcome at their chosen school - that's right, most college athletes make the wrong choice in their recruiting selection.

  • NCAA Study - 37% Transfer Rate among student-athletes
  • NCAA Study - 30% of college athletes dropout of their sport
  • NCAA Study - 40% of men's basketball players who enter DI depart by the end of their sophomore year

This is a big life decision - don't be one of these casualties. RecruitU's college coaching experts perform all the needed evaluation and "homework" for you to ensure a positive recruiting outcome.

Why the Recruiting Process is Broken
The process is broken primarily due to the absence of critical due diligence and the fact that recruiting has become very random for both athletes and college coaches. Statisticians will tell you that an uninformed, random process will yield random results.

The randomness occurs as athletes gravitate to schools because: They just happen to catch the eye of a coach at an event; or via word of mouth; or the athletes and their parents take a shotgun approach by sending their information to thousands of colleges. The process isn't focused, educated or expert driven.

For example, athletes select a college based on if a school happens to find them or one of the hundreds of schools responds to the athletes' outreach. If something sticks, they attend that school. That's pretty much the extent of their investigation of their selected program.

NCAA analysis has indicated that athletes take an average of less than two college visits before selecting a school. In addition, they don't accurately, match their academic or lifestyle preferences or gain a deep insight into the college's culture.

Also, both athletes and college coaches often misjudge the proper level of play of the athlete. Note that 46% of the abovementioned men's basketball transfers went to a lower level Division I school while the others typically left for Division II, NAIA or two-year colleges. Moreover, college coaches are limited in their ability to have the time or opportunity to accurately assess an athlete and, truthfully, they over-recruit. Notably, the average Power 5 football program offers approximately 200 more scholarships than it can sign during a recruiting cycle.

RecruitU performs extensive and personalized due diligence on all key levels to guarantee that our athletes have a great college athletic experience. Our track record confirms our success!
